Completion of Curriculum
When studying on the academic year basis (in the Faculty of Medicine), a student must, by the end of the semester, complete 100% of the compulsory courses specified in the curriculum.
In the subject system, the completion of the curriculum is monitored in terms of two different aspects:
Completion of the curriculum to the extent of the required minimum
The completion of the curriculum to the extent of the required minimum is evaluated only in the case of first-year students. By the end of the autumn semester (studied semester) of the first year, courses of the curriculum must be completed at least to the extent of 15 ECTS (except Doctoral studies), otherwise the student will be deleted from the matriculation register. This applies full-time studies.
Completion of the curriculum to the extent prescribed by the system of study
The completion of the curriculum to the extent prescribed by the system of study is evaluated at the end of each academic year (after two studied semesters). Credit points are calculated in total regarding the entire period of study (not separately per semester).
In full-time studies, 75-100% of the total of the courses specified in the curriculum must be completed each year:
-
at least 45 ECTS by the end of the first year;
-
at least 90 ECTS by the end of the second year;
-
at least 135 ECTS by the end of the third year.
Those who fail to fulfil the requirements for full-time studies are transferred to a part-time student place which is not funded by the state.
In part-time studies, 50-75% of the total of the courses prescribed by the curriculum must be completed:
-
at least 30 ECTS by the end of the first year;
-
at least 60 ECTS by the end of the second year;
-
at least 90 ECTS by the end of the third year.
Those who fail to fulfil the requirements for part-time studies and thus reach the minimum amount of the curriculum are deleted from the matriculation register due to a lack of progress.
