Erasmus+ mobility between programme countries
Erasmus+ is the European Union's flagship programme for promoting education, training, youth development, and sports. Financed by the European Commission, it provides university students, faculty and staff as well as general and vocational education students and teachers with the opportunity to study or undergo training abroad, among other activities. While many Erasmus+ initiatives (including mobility between European programme countries) are only available to EU member countries as well as Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia, others are available for countries worldwide.
Erasmus+ mobility between European programme countries enables participants to:
- Become exchange students at UT's partner universities;
- Undergo a traineeship or internship;
- Teach at a partner university and/or undergo training (for teaching and administrative staff; information available on the UT Intranet).
The University of Tartu's academic departments have over 1000 partnership agreements with more than 500 higher education instutitons across Europe to promote the free exchange of students and instructors. Each faculty/institute has its own Erasmus coordinators.
The University of Tartu's participation in the Erasmus+ programme is governed by the following documents:
- The Erasmus Charter;
- The Erasmus Policy Statement.
