Coordination of the International Activities
Rectors Office will be responsible for setting the University of Tartu internationalisation goals and making strategic choices. The goals of each area of teaching and research will be set in the strategic plans of the respective areas, with the activities to be carried out at the level of institutes and colleges.
While each unit is responsible for its own international initiatives and contacts, the International Cooperation Unit of Rector’s Strategy Office supports the implementation and future development of university-wide international initiatives and internalisation goals of the University.
International Cooperation Unit is responsible for maintaining international university partnerships and strategic networks, including researcher exchange and international protocol. In addition to International Cooperation Unit, the following units and officials are involved in international cooperation on the institutional level:
Grant Office – administration of international R&D cooperation (EU partnerships, European research infrastructures), grant writing for international funding, analytics.
Lifelong Learning Centre – administration of the UT International Summer University;
Marketing Unit of Marketing and Communication Office - introducing University of Tartu as a destination for studies in foreign markets;
Communication Unit of Marketing and Communication Office – internal and external communication in foreign language(s);
Human Resources Office – recruitment, welcoming and support for international staff, facilitating their adjustment to the Estonian society;
