MindTitan Scholarship
The aim of the MindTitan Scholarship is to support the studies of Bachelor’s and Master’s level students at the UT Institute of Computer Science. The scholarship amount is 2500 euros. Two scholarships are awarded each year.
Bachelor’s and Master’s students of the UT Institute of Computer Science studying within the nominal study time are invited to apply to the scholarship, whose academic work and/or research is related to the fields of data science and artificial intelligence.
Application schedule for 2026 spring
- Application deadline: 15 May 2026
- Announcement of the scholarship recipient: at the Student Project Contest on 3 June 2026
Required application documents (can be submitted in English or Estonian language)
- An essay on the topic of “How AI can enhance learning”. The length of the essay should be 800–1200 words. Illustrations, diagrams, graphical elements, etc. may be included. The total length, including illustrations, should not exceed 5 pages though.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV), which may include descriptions of the applicant’s achievements and practical projects, including links to results (e.g. Git repositories or other formats).
- Transcript of academic records (can be requested from the Academic Affairs Specialist of your curriculum or via [email protected]).
All application documents should be sent to [email protected] no later than midnight on 15 May 2026.
To assess the applications submitted to the scholarship competition, the Head of the Institute of Computer Science appoints a four‑member scholarship committee. When awarding the scholarship, the committee considers the applicant’s academic performance and previous achievements. The essay is evaluated based on the novelty, depth, and feasibility of the ideas presented.
Rights and limitations related to the scholarship
- Being awarded the MindTitan Scholarship does not exclude receiving the specialisation stipend of information technology curricula or teacher training scholarships.
Receiving need‑based study allowance or travel grants simultaneously is also permitted. - However, students awarded the MindTitan Scholarship cannot simultaneously receive Reet and Tiit Villig’s Scholarship, Ülo Kaasik’s Scholarship or Cybernetica Fellowship.
The scholarship is not awarded to students on academic leave. - During their studies, a student may receive the MindTitan Scholarship a maximum of two times.
