Institute of Computer Science at sTARTUp Day 2024

The Institute of Computer Science is taking part of sTARTUp Day 2024 as part of multiple events.

On the Insight Stage at 25 January, 13:15, Professor of Information Systems Marlon Dumas will give a talk titled „How GenAI Will (Not) Change Your Business". Read professor Dumas' article in Research in Estonias, where he explains that using AI in companies may lead to large changes.

On 24 January, we are hosting a Data Science seminar titled „Education in the age of big data and artificial intelligence", the academic organiser of which is Associate Professor Jaan Aru. The event brings together the government side, academia and the EdTech sector. We will see what data is available, how EdTech companies are handling their data, and what artificial intelligence can add. The event also highlights that future education is not only about schools and universities but also more and more about life-long learning.

The Sandbox workshop Think Like A Designer" will help you understand as to how user-centric design can bring your digital product management to a whole another level. The workshop takes place in the Delta Centre Sandbox room (r3092) on 24 January, 13:00-16:00.

We are also present at the University of Tartu Demo Area from 25-26 January, where we will show projects and solutions that our scientists have developed. You can expect to see topics such as AI, face recognition software and more.

At the sTARTUp Day, we will introduce the top-tier science and forms of industry collaboration here at the Institute of Computer Science. It is great to see that our scientist are in-demand and appreciated both in Estonia and the world in general. We have constant co-operation with organisations from beginner startups to large companies and the public sector. We are always interested in further collaboration between academia and the private sector.
